My story

Meet The Founder

Hi, I'm Jordan. I believe what we want is the most honest thing about ourselves, and that pursuing pleasure and intimacy is one of the best ways to understand ourselves, connect more deeply with others, and live more fully.

I started SubCurrent as a space to help you find the first-person truth of what feels good and true in your body and feel more confident expressing it to others. As a coach, we work with to identify your deepest desires, always meeting them with celebration and giving them a welcome place to land. Being honest about what we want can be challenging, but it's some of the most transformative work I know.

I came to this work through my own path. For much of my life I lived at an emotional distance, more comfortable having the answer than feeling the feeling. Learning to bring more of myself into relationships and the world, turn-ons included, has been one of the more rewarding projects I've taken on. It's a large part of why I trained in intimacy coaching with the Somatica Institute, after years of therapy, mindfulness practice, and sex-positive spaces. Working much of my life in creative disciplines – as a designer, musician, event producer, and community organizer – I also bring a love of exploring possibilities: I'll encourage you to think creatively and out fresh approaches until we find what works for you.

I'm clear-eyed about the forces that shape us, from capitalism and patriarchy to prejudice around race, gender, and sexuality. These dynamics are too powerful in our world, but I don't want them to get the final word in how we live our lives. Something important in us comes before all of that. There is a source of desire and knowing that those forces can distort but never fully contain, and I'm here to help find it, learn to trust it, and follow it toward more connection.
